Westminster School District is committed to help students take ownership of their digital lives.
Westminster School District made a commitment to 1:1 learning with technology. The impact has brought changes to the way we teach and learn and the interactions among students and teachers with Chromebooks. We believe as the Common Sense Media Website describes that “All students need digital citizenship skills to participate fully in their communities and make smart choices online and in life.” That is why we have adopted the award-winning K–12 Digital Citizenship Curriculum in all of our Westminster schools to:
- Address top concerns for schools.
- Prepare students with critical 21st-century skills.
- Support educators with training and recognition.
- Engage the whole community through family outreach.
We also want families to learn along with us so that together as a community we can educate our children and protect them from unknowns found on the internet. We are as committed to raising good digital citizens as we are to educating them to be great citizens of their community. Parents can learn more from Common Sense Media’s For Parents resource page.
